BB Expedition Regulations
The BB will adhere to an expedition season from the end of March to the end of October (roughly coinciding with British Summer Time). This does not preclude appropriately led training opportunities and day walks outside of these dates. All unaccompanied expeditions in the name of the BB can only take place during this season.
All expeditions must be notified to the relevant Regional Headquarters using the BB notification system and must be supervised by a holder of a BB Expedition and Outdoor Leadership qualification appropriate to the environment in which the expedition is taking place.
All
those taking responsibility for young people on expeditions must be
registered with the Brigade.

Companies
undertaking expeditions are required notify their Regional Headquarters
Copies
of notification the cards are available from Brigade Headquarters.
All expeditions or explorations must be supervised by an Officer or leader who holds an Expedition and Outdoor Leadership Certificate, particularly those involving an overnight stay.
Certificates are issued at two levels: Standard, for those supervising and training expeditions within the BB award scheme including Queen’s Badge and Duke of Edinburgh Award (D of E) Silver, and Advanced, for those supervising and training expeditions to D of E Gold (i.e. in wild country.)
A full copy of the route card must be left behind with a responsible person.
D of E expeditions held in wild country must be notified to the local D of E Panel and to the local BB D of E Awards Officer.
