Archery

What is it?
The opportunity for you to participate in an Archery programme which will enable you to show an improvement in shooting technique and ability.  To develop your knowledge and understanding of the rules and technicalities of the sport, furthering your enjoyment.

SafetyMessage
Participants should receive appropriate training and instruction from a qualified instructor and at a recognised Archery Club or Sports Centre offering Archery as an activity.  The Instructor would give suitable advice on equipment, clothing and safety.

The following list contains suggested areas, which you might want to explore when learning archery:

Review/ Assessment
The reviewer/assessor should ensure the young person understands and appreciates the following: the basic rules of shooting and scoring; the safety rules; the names of the pieces of equipment and how to prepare them ready to shoot; the importance of warming up exercises prior to shooting.  The participant should show improvement in scores recorded over the required period of time.
