Get the Credit: Gymnastics

Note:  Captains are warned of th hazards inherent in gymnastics when it is led by unqualified or inexperienced instructors.  It is strongly advised that those taking gymnastics sessions receive the appropriate BAGA training as organised by the Brigade.

The equipment used should be checked regularly for condition (look especially for points where fingers could be caught) and good discipline maintained among the participants at all times.

Training periods will cover 12 sessions with a minimum of 30 minutes actual instruction each session.  Boys should wear suitable kit.

Sessions may include activities on one or more of the following: Box, Horse, Bars, Wall-bars, Mats etc.

Grade I
Awarded to Boys who qualify and -

  1. Have a good record of punctuality, keenness and behaviour.
  2. Show satisfactory improvement during the sessions.
  3. Achieve a standard of performance appropriate to their age and natural ability.

Grade II
Awarded to members who qualify and -

  1. Have a good record of punctuality, keenness and behaviour.
  2. Show satisfactory improvement during the sessions.
  3. Achieve a standard of performance appropriately higher than that required for Grade I.

Grade III
Awarded to members who hold Grade II and who further qualify -

  1. Have a good record of punctuality, keenness and behaviour.
  2. Show satisfactory improvement during the sessions.
  3. Achieve a standard of performance appropriately higher than that required for Grade II.
