Get the Credit: Sportsman

 
A Sportsman Credit can be awarded to those who qualify in any of the following activities:

Archery Badminton Cricket
Cross Country Cycling Fencing
Football Golf Judo
Lawn Tennis Orienteering Rugby
Roller Skating Skiing Table Tennis

... and other sports not covered above.

In order to qualify, the following conditions must be satisfied:

  1. Participate in the activity for a period covering at least 12 activity sessions.
  2. Attend training and instructional periods that show progress in personal performance.
  3. Where appropriate (eg Football), represent the Company or Battalion in a reasonable number of matches, with satisfactory conduct.
  4. Show a knowledge of the sport in it's wider aspects - eg history, rules, competitions etc.

Grade I
Awarded to those who qualify above and -

  1. Have a good record of punctuality, keenness and behaviour
  2. Show satisfactory improvement during the session.
  3. Achieve a standard of performance appropriate to age and natural ability.

Grade II
Awarded to those who qualify above and -

  1. Have a good record of punctuality, keenness and behaviour
  2. Show satisfactory improvement during the session.
  3. Achieve a standard of performance appropriately higher than that required for Grade I.

Grade III
Awarded to those who qualify above and -

  1. Have a good record of punctuality, keenness and behaviour
  2. Show satisfactory improvement during the session.
  3. Achieve a standard of performance appropriately higher than that required for Grade II.

Sportsman's Colours
Companies may, at their discretion award Sportsman's Colours to those who have qualified in any appropriate sporting activity.  Colours are designed to be worn on track suits and other sports clothing.
