What is it?
Polo is a team game, which is played on horseback, where the aim of the game is to get the ball through 2 posts, which will score a point.

Safety Message
Participants should receive appropriate training in the safe use of all equipment, which is necessary to play this game, including how to handle horses. Participants should always wear the appropriate clothing, including a hat, to protect themselves from injury.

Ideas/Aims
In addition to playing the game you should also:
Learn the rules of the game.
Attain a reasonable proficiency in the basic skills of polo, in order to participate and compete in a serious game.
Show knowledge of the care and maintenance of equipment.
Compete in appropriate club competitions.
Show skills and an improvement in your standard of play.
Develop an appreciation of tactics and positioning play.
Be selected and play in a team, which has proper fixtures.
Be able to keep score of the game.

Review/Assessment
Participants should discuss with the assessor the rules of the game, and any tactics, which they have learnt while playing it. They should discuss any safety requirements, which are necessary for the game, and the reasons why they should always be adhered to.
