What is it?

While participating in the game of squash, individuals should be supervised by qualified coaches and advised on the correct guidelines in terms of clothing and footwear. Some clubs may require participants to wear goggles. Suggestions on appropriate 'warm up' and 'cool down' exercises are of paramount importance.Ideas/Aims
The following is a list of suggested targets which you could aim for when undertaking this sport, to an increasing degree depending upon time and ability:
Be able to understand the main principles of stroke play, movement and balance.
Be familiar with the techniques and tactics of various shots, including the straight drive, crosscourt drive, lob, service and return, volley, drop, back corner lay and angle and attack shots, with practices for each.
Know the correct positioning of a player on court.
Develop knowledge of the approach to practice and further practice drills, games and sequences.
Be aware of the basic scoring and rules.
Participate in club or inter-club games.
Participate in competitive games.
Officiate with confidence, imposing some simple rules to keep the game of squash moving safely and fairly.Review/Assessment
Participants should be given the opportunity to progress their individual skills within the game. All coaches should be able to suitably deliver the basic skills of squash and in turn attempt to fulfil individual's potential and maximise the enjoyment of the sport.
