Windsurfing

What is it?

This is both a fast moving sport and a relaxing pastime using the power of the wind partly harnessed by a sail, on a mast, connected to a board by a universal joint, directly controlled by the participant standing on the board to move across water.

Participants should be confident in the water, and consider adequate buoyancy as a priority, as with any activity of this sort, it should be accepted that this is a risk activity, and the best way forward is likely to involve training from a suitably trained supervisor, club, or commercial watersports centre.
